The LOCKSS Program is an open-source, library-led digital preservation system built on the principle that “lots of copies keep stuff safe.” The LOCKSS Program, based at Stanford University Libraries, provides libraries and publishers, low-cost, open source digital preservation tools to preserve and provide access to persistent and authoritative digital content. LOCKSS system has permission to collect, preserve, and serve the OJS Archival Unit of Asian Business Review.
The PKP Public Knowledge Project has been working with its development partners and sponsors to implement a Private LOCKSS Network that will preserve any OJS journal, with one year of published content and an ISSN, regardless of where it is hosted or who publishes it. This journal uses LOCKSS, to ensure the long-term survival of Web-based scholarly publications in the event that Asian Business Review stops publishing temporarily or the journal is no longer published. This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration.
